Notes
- BMW UK gives the wheelbase gain over the E53 as 113 mm; Wikipedia says 110 mm longer wheelbase and 165 mm longer body. The manufacturer figures are recorded.
- Wikipedia's infobox gives North American model years 2007–2014, which overlaps the F15's 2014 model year; only the start (2007) is recorded.
- The X5 M (E70) was introduced in 2009 for the 2010 model year. Wikipedia says it was introduced at the New York Auto Show in April 2009, while a BMW US pricing release reportedly says it made its world debut in Shanghai. Not resolved.
- UK 'hp' figures in BMW UK releases are metric horsepower (PS); recorded as stated.
- Seating (5 standard, optional 7) is described in the sources in words only, so it is listed among the changes rather than as seating figures.
